NYU and NYU-Poly Alums Meet in the Bay Area and LA

On May 8, Jerry Hultin, President, NYU-Poly, joined more than 80 NYU and NYU-Poly alumni at a reception at the Garden Court Hotel in downtown Palo Alto, CA.

Attendees gathered to hear the evening’s insightful discussion, “Invention and Innovation: Leading Strategies for Entrepreneurship.”  The panel discussion and reception focused on the importance of innovative entrepreneurship in addressing today’s challenges. In addition to President Hultin, panelists included Frank Rimalovski, managing director, NYU Innovation Fund and distinguished alumni guests speakers, Jack S. Jia ’89, partner, GSR Ventures; Lewis W. “Lew” Tucker ’79 ’84, vice president and chief technology officer, Cloud Computing, Cisco Systems, Inc. and Leonard J. “Len” Shustek’70 ’70, chairman, Computer History Museum.

President Hultin joined a similar group of alums and their guests in Los Angeles two days later. The reception included a discussion of the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP), the applied science research institute created by NYU and NYU-Poly with a consortium of world-class universities and the foremost international tech companies, aimed at addressing the needs of cities. The event was held at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills.
