Stephen Arnold

Arnold believes that using the “top-down” approach in mentoring undergraduates can accelerate discovery in research. The title of his lecture at Boston College was “From the Death of An Icon to Birth of A Physical Principle for Ultra-sensitive Label-free Virus Sensing.” He returned recently from Sicily where he delivered invited lectures under the collective title “Photonic Microcavity Fundamentals for Ultra-sensitive Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Detection.” This area is directly related to bio-medical patents, and graduate and undergraduate research at the MicroParticle PhotoPhysics Lab.

George Bugliarello’s article, “Global Health Care Delivery: A Pandora’s Box of Ethical Issues,” was published posthumously in Ethics in Biology, Engineering and Medicine—An International Journal.
