Writing Center

The Writing Center is here to help you with a variety of writing assignments. We also offer activities for improving English fluency. Take a look at our services below. A list of online writing tips, tools, and references follows our list of services.

Writing Services

Drop-In: Monday – Thursday 12 – 2 p.m.
A professional tutor will work with you one-on-one on short assignments, career documents, and other writing needs. Sessions typically last about 20 minutes. No appointment necessary!

Appointments: Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday 10a.m. – 4 p.m.
A writing consultant will work with you individually for up to 45 minutes. The writing consultant will help you focus your thoughts, organize your paper, and use grammatically correct English. He or she can help you at any stage of your work:

Speaking Services

1:1 Sessions

We can help you prepare for oral presentations in 1:1 sessions. (Schedule your appointment with the front desk.)


Groups include 5-10 students and an instructor. You will improve your English vocabulary, pronunciation, and use of idioms. Conversation groups are friendly and relaxed, and will help you become more confident speaking English. The groups are also a great way to meet students from other academic departments and other countries. (Check with the front desk for conversation group schedules.)

Conversation Café: Friday 4 – 5:30 p.m.
