The School of Engineering Honors Program offers students of exceptional promise an enriched educational experience that extends beyond the traditional classroom environment.

The program offers a superior educational experience by fostering critical thinking and creativity. Honors students have access to a variety of opportunites, such as internships, undergraduate research, company site visits, and specialized extracurricular activities.

Rigorous intellectual development through active learning and faculty mentoring combine with an interdisciplinary focus and global awareness prepares students to become leaders. As rising scholars, Honors students are a highly enthusiastic and prominent part of the School's alumni population and enhance the overall reputation of the school for delivering excellence in education.

Honors Program Highlights

  • An undergraduate experience rooted in a research-intensive environment. Honors students complete a BS thesis based on independent research with faculty.
  • An emphasis on Invention, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (i2e) balanced with scholarly and professional development activities embedded throughout the program.
  • A dedicated Honors adviser and the opportunity to participate in specialized extracurricular events throughout the year that build a strong sense of community.
  • One tuition-free summer course (up to four credits) for four consecutive summer sessions. This course may be taken at any NYU school, including the NYU Study Away sites.
  • Financial support for conferences and research-related activities.
